The Navy Pier was built in 1916 on the shore of Lake Michigan as a cargo and passenger ship dock. Today, the pier is cultural landmark with events and permanent attractions like a ferris wheel. Shops, restaurants and museums also line the pier. Future additions may include a water park and floating hotel.
