The Joslyn Art Museum opened in 1931 and is the only museum in Nebraska that holds a comprehensive permanent collection. It is located in a large art deco building made of marble. Its collections feature nineteenth and twentieth century American and European art. It also holds an important collection of Western and Native American art.
