Cleveland
Cleveland is located on the southern shore of Lake Erie and is the most populous city in the state of Ohio. The city was founded in 1796 as a manufacturing center for its proximity to numerous canals and railroads. Cleveland is nicknamed ‘The Forest City’ and is well known for its business in finance and healthcare.
Cleveland is recognized for its affluence in music. The city is home to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which is strictly dedicated to music history and inducts major artists yearly. Cleveland is also home to the second largest performing arts center in the U.S. The Playhouse Square Center boasts eight theatres and six permanent performance companies. The Cleveland Orchestra is considered to be one of the finest orchestras in the world.
University Circle is the cultural center of Cleveland. It covers 550 acres and surrounds the Case Western Reserve University. The neighborhood is home to many museums including the Cleveland Museum of Art, which holds more than 40,000 objects in 70 galleries.
